Kat pursued a major in music
for three years at the University of Florida, but found herself
drawn to broadcasting and communications. In pursuit of that
interest, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications
in 1987. Kat went on to work behind the scenes as a director
for newscasts, talk shows, musical groups, and corporate events
for the next 11 years. Along the way, she also used her voice
talents to sing jingles and voice commercials for radio and television. Throughout
her career she learned multiple skills in the area of telecommunications,
including that of writing for TV commercials. This involved
assessing the commercial needs of a client, inventing a concept
and following it through production to the finished product.
In 1997, Kat decided to venture out under her own company umbrella
and write her own commercials and direct her own projects. One
connection led to another and is currently the Technical Director
for sports networks such as ESPN, FOX Florida, and Sun Sports
to name a few. Over the years, Kat has built a network
of contacts in the media business both locally and nationwide.
Throughout her years of working in public relations, Kat has
always made time to volunteer for worthy causes like after-school
mentoring programs, mission trips to help the needy, and sharing
her singing talents with her church.
In 2006, Kat proudly accepted a partnership with Passion Flower
Productions as their PR Director in hopes of helping women at-risk. |
